5 months

Zoe is growing like a weed, but is still on the smaller side of things.  She still wears a lot of 0-3 month clothing and is tiny compared to a lot of her friends who are younger than she is!!

Here are some new inchworm photos.
And some bonus shots!!

First cereal

Zoe has tried rice cereal a few times, but last night she really "got" it.  Had some and realized that it tasted pretty good.  Also realized she could swallow.  And now I believe she has figured out that more types of food will taste better.
Video to come.

Growth so far!

Daddy's girl

We're not really surprised that Zoe is a Daddy's girl.  When she arrived, J immediately fell head over heels in love with her. The bonus is that now she really loves back. She spends a great portion of her days gurgling and smiling, cooing and laughing.  And now she'll laugh when you just look at her.

I tried to get some video of her laughing but am having technical difficulties uploading same.

She can now roll from back to front, front to back, in any direction.  It's tricky, because you can put her on the floor on her mat in one position and walk away, to come back to her having turned 90 degrees.  You know how they say, "Do not leave child unattended?"  Yea. I see what they mean.

Life continues on as normal here.  We continue to have a blast, and are sort of bewildered by how fast Z is growing.  Everyone tells you that it will happen, but before you can blink the tiny tree-frog days are gone.  She's all stretched out and never wants to be lying down anymore.  She has to sit up or stand up!  She becomes quite cross if you don't tend to her quickly and put her upright.  Just ask her grandfather.

Zoe's friend, Emma, cut a tooth yesterday.  She's a month older than Z.  I'm just waiting for this to happen with us.  Z has been drooling for almost two months now and soaks through multiple bibs and outfits each day.  (Note the Yankees bib courtesy of Aunt Chrissie)  We're debating adding cereal to her diet since she's almost 5 months old.  Where is the time going??

We went to a leadership conference at USC yesterday and heard a lot about focus and vision.  I'd say those were the two main themes I adhered to throughout the day, and it really got me thinking.  Refreshed.  But personally, not as much professionally.  The best question asked was by one of the keynote speakers, Michael Miller.  "What do you want?"  And he wouldn't just rest with a one-word answer.  This was a question designed to get you really thinking.  What is it that you desperately want for your life?

I ended up crying! Just sat there thinking about renewing my focus on what really matters in my life.  Shaping the young life of Zoe.  Being the best wife I can be to my loving and amazing partner, Jody.

It's not about making money.  It's about being true to myself.  To my values.  To raising and being a responsible member of society.  Having faith that if I really put my energy into it, I'll get what I want for my life.

Doesn't really matter whose hand is in the mouth as long as it is tasty.

Zoe and Emma at Boob Group! I have blogged about Zoe's friend, Emma, before, but here are a few pictures.
Emma is one month and two days older than Z. She also weighs about 7 pounds more. At the risk of sounding like a criminal, I ADORE Emma's chunky tush. She and Z seem to be buds. I joked with E's mom, Kelly, that they'll probably hate one another in middle/high school and will be mortified by the naked baby pics we have of them. :)
